Upcoming in October I am one of the artists invited to be part of the Bookverks 2008 Information is Not Knowledge Project, curated by Amanda Thackray and James Prez. For this project, a number of artists were each given one volume from a set of the Encyclopedia Britannica, and asked to do whatever they pleased to it. My contribution, Earth Volume, made from Volume E, Earth-Everglades, began its tranformation by composting the text block. Two oak tree seedlings are now growing out of the former pages.
This project will be on view in the New Jersey City Canco building during the 18th Annual New Jersey City Studio Tour on the weekend of October 4-5, 2008. Other venues to follow, check back here future postings and more information!
